Voices in Harmony

First day of Advent today. A brilliant service led by these two lovelies.. thank you both.

What a lovely evening we had at our pumpkin drive.. our own version of a beetle drive followed by yummy jacket potatoes. Thanks so much to those who came, great fellowship and of course huge thanks to the organisers, cooks etc..

A very big thank you Enid for being a great host and providing a lovely summer supper for us all. Super time of friendship and food!

Remembrance 2020

In the absence of a public gathering at Cradley cenotaph this year, due to Covid restrictions, Rev Helen Croft laid our wreath there on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November.

‘Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.’ (John 15:13).

2.6 Challenge

Members of the Sunday School took up the challenge on 26 April 2020.  They have raised enough money for Oxfam to provide 20 vulnerable families with clean water for a month.  Here’s what they got up to;

Outbreak Activities

Over Holy Week members of Outbreak received a challenge every day.  These included, drawing a donkey, dressing our feet to remember Mary Magdalene washing Jesus’ feet, making a J out of 30 objects to remember Judas’ part, paper chain people(to remember our friends and family), crowns with Easter jokes, crosses made out of natural items and finally eat an Easter Egg for breakfast.

Easter Scavenger Hunt

Congratulations to Bella, Charlie, Charlotte, Hope, Lola, Noah and Tommy who completed the challenge.  Your eggs are on their way.  Here’s some of the items they found, relating to the Easter story.

Commemoration of the Deceased on 27th October

On the evening of Sunday 27 October we held our annual All Souls Tide service to commemorate those who have died. A copy of the service, led by Margaret Bradley, can be seen here.
The picture shows a few of the people who came to light a candle.  They are Charis Martin, Helena Martin, Gina Busby and Arthur Brown. All were given a book mark as a memento to take home and we shared in traditional soul cakes, made by Enid Billingham, afterwards.

Sunday School Prize Giving

Thank you to our young people for their regular attendance and taking part and leading worship during our services. As a small gesture of our appreciation they received a book of their choice this morning. Thank you also to all those who were able to come and support them. We are very lucky at Overend to have this group of young people, as part of our church family.
